Implementation Overview Assisgnment
This assignment represents the transition from course design to real-world implementation within my College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCR) course. I created and structured a functioning Overview/Start Here module and first two modules of instruction with Google Classroom (my LMS) in action.
Implementation meant creating course content as well as purposefully planning for a structured, student-centered experience that helps students learn about themselves, set goals, and plan for life after high school. The Start Here module introduces students to the course, sets expectations, and helps students understand how to navigate the course while making connections to their lives after high school. Modules 1 and 2 continue the students’ learning experience by including activities such as creating SMART goals and a plan for life after high school.
I also recorded a screencast video of my course so that viewers can hear my narration as I walk them through my course design, the “why” behind my instructional decisions, and the alignment between learning targets, activities, and assessments. Students will learn my role as a facilitator, coach, and mentor. Lastly, my video highlights how I create a student-centered blended learning environment with both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
This assignment process allowed me to see how important it is to be flexible and open to change while designing for learners.
