Instructional Design Project
This instructional design project was created from my innovation plan entitled, Digital Career Exploration & Mentorship Program. which aims to transform how students prepare for their postsecondary future.
Addressing the gaps found in College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR), this student-centered, blended learning instructional design incorporates mentorship, technology, and exploration to do more than help students complete career awareness activities. This learning experience empowers students to design and take ownership of their lives after high school.
The video below includes a description of the instructional design including learning outcomes, activites, and assessments all lined up with a scheduled implementation plan of 6 weeks allowing for meaningful and authentic learning.
Instructional Design Framework
These design artifacts represent how thoughtful instruction was put into planning the Digital Career Exploration & Mentorship Program. You can see how learning outcomes, associated activities, and assessments were intentionally aligned to facilitate authentic and relevant learning for students.
Illustrated through the 3-Column Table is how learning outcomes will be reinforced by both engaging instruction and aligned assessments that encourage students to dive deeper into their learning, reflect on their strengths and postsecondary goals, and apply their knowledge by creating a plan for life after high school. The 6-Week Implementation Plan allows students to see the big picture for how they will progress throughout the learning experience.
Students gain a clear understanding of how every lesson builds upon their awareness of what they want beyond high school and culminates in creating and presenting their individual postsecondary plan.
